Welcome to The Final Fantasy 500 Project! I created this site in hopes of bringing as many artists together as I can to accomplish a task that is formidable, but, I feel, well worth the effort. The task? Create a group picture featuring 500 characters from every corner of the Final Fantasy franchise. Impossible, you say? Well that's up to you, the fan. I'll update this page regularly to show the progress of my project, so keep your eyes peeled. Here is a short(hah, not really) Q and A to sort out what this site is all about. It's long, but please read it before trying to figure out what's going on! If you're curious about the status of the project, check out the character assignments and full character list pages. - Dec. 9th, 2009. 149 characters done, 316 accounted for. Yep, the project is still alive and running. I won't be updating this page unless I change or add something to the site itself, but if you want to see where the project stands check out the Completed Characters page. - Jun. 11th, 2009. 103 characters done, 281 accounted for. It took me a bit, but I finally put together the FF100! Things have slowed down a bit recently, but hopefully I can get in touch with some of the people who have signed up and remind them the project is still going strong and give this project a second wind. Remember, this project can't succeed without you, the fans, helping me out! - Mar. 8th, 2009. 85 characters done, 260 accounted for. To help people keep up with the growing number of new character submissions, I've made a page for people to check out the newest completed characters. Check it out here. - Feb. 14th, 2009. 56 characters done, 224 accounted for. With 50 characters now done, I decided to do another sample image for the group. Say hello to the FF50! Expect to see one more when the list hits 100. - Jan. 17th, 2009. 20 characters done, and 125 accounted for. The project's moving along nicely now, and I put together a quick sample of what the group shot might look like when it's done, using the 20 characters completed so far. It's just a rush job that I'm using as a quick little peek at the future of the project, and is by no means perfect or final, but it's the start of something very big, so enjoy. FF500 at 20 characters - Dec. 31st, 2008. 5 characters done, and 67 accounted for. In an effort to get more people involved in the project, I'm taking it to as many FF sites as I can. I'll be spreading the word as best I can, but anyone who is interested in seeing this monumental project completed feel free to pass the project along to everyone they can. - Nov. 10th, 2008. 4 characters done, and 59 accounted for! I've made an easy-to-read list of all the characters so people can easily and quickly see who is done, who is accounted for,and who is free to do. Check it out here. - Nov. 2nd, 2008. The first character of the project is already done! And we already now have 45 characters spoken for. This project is coming along better than I could have hoped, so keep up the good work people! - Nov. 1st, 2008. The artists are trickling in. Check out the update page for who's doing who. - Oct. 31st, 2008. Site launches finally! Now the real fun can begin... Now then, onto the actual content of the site! Happy Browsing! Browse by name or game for a specific character below. Characters are listed alphabetically by either their first name or common name. The most recent translations of names are typically the ones used, with a few exceptions. Characters from compilations, remakes, and sequels are listed under their parent game. Characters appearing in multiple games are listed under each game. Recurring characters that don't belong to a specific game are listed under "Mascots". Gilgamesh appears wherever he feels like appearing. Characters that didn't make the cut can be found here. A
