 Yu Yevon - Final Fantasy X
The ominous entity behind all the woes of Spira for the past millenia. Yu Yevon was once the most powerful summoner of Zanarkand, but he sacrificed himself and his people in order to prevent their slaughter by their rival nation of Bevelle. Instead of slaughter, his people found a false peace in a dreamland of Yu Yevon's design, an illusory utopia where his will reigns supreme and eternally. Although all he wanted was peace, what he created through his efforts was a monster of chaos and destruction, Sin. Through the Final Summoning and the Yevon religion that was created around it, Yu Yevon recreates Sin after it is defeated, thus continuing Spira's spiral of death endlessly. Yu Yevon cannot be wholly blamed for this tragic cycle of death, as his body and mind have long since decayed and all that is left of him is his will to keep the Dream he is summoning alive.
