 Squall Leonhart - Final Fantasy VIII
The angsty young SeeD from Balamb Garden who is the main protagonist of Final Fantasy VIII. He is an exceptional student in the ways of combat, wielding a unique weapon known as a gunblade in battle. He does not enjoy dealing with others, and tries to avoid personal relationships by acting cold and indifferent to others and their problems. Despite his best efforts, his natural leadership and calm confidence win over the people around him, inspiring them to put their trust in him, and conversely inspiring Squall to open up his heart to them. No one has more of an impact on Squall than Rinoa, who forces him to open up his heart in ways he never thought he was capable. He grows to become fiercely protective of her, becoming her knight in shining armor whenever she is in need.
