 Hiryu - Final Fantasy V
The flying wind drake that has been in the Tycoon family for years and looks after Lenna like a sister. There is also another wind drake that lives with Krile. Wind drakes are very rare and on the verge of extinction in both worlds, with Lenna's and Krile's being the only known ones left. Hiryu is saved on several occasions by Lenna, and returns the favor on several occasions, as well as offering its services as a mode of transportation. Later in the game, it is severely wounded saving Lenna from the Void, and offers to sacrifice itself to become the Phoenix summon. Krile's wind drake is a bit luckier, safely staying in Bal Castle for the rest of the game to be used by the party whenever they wish.
